Marirose Piciucco is DSHS Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Secretary. Her portfolio includes the Office of Economic Justice, the Office of Communications & Government Affairs and the Office of Innovation, Strategic Planning & Visual Communications. In addition, Marirose supports the Assistant Secretaries in the Economic Services Administration, the Developmental Disability Administration and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. A lawyer for over 35 years, Marirose served as Chief Counsel of Catholic Charities SF and as its Director of the Center for Immigration Legal & Support Services. For over a decade, Marirose was a partner in an immigration law firm in San Francisco which specialized in asylum law and deportation defense. Her firm represented the largest number of LGBTQIA+ asylum-seekers in the country.
